What It Means To Be a Mother
A mother is someone who cares because she wants to;
she loves with all her heart through and through.
Her child can leave and move on through life,
but she’s always ready to be there by their side.
A mother wants to know what their child likes,
is blue their favorite color or is it lima beans they despise?
A mother might be stern to teach her child lessons,
because she believes it will help them live life without ever second-guessing.
A mother shows love when she’s badgering about cleaning their room,
to show her child how to take care of themselves with a dustpan and a broom.
Mothers are sometimes tired, worn down, and at their wit’s end,
all for the sake of wanting to show their children that they are best friends.
Mothers are taken for granted for all that they are,
but they will never stop being there no matter how much time or how far.
A good mother will say “I’m sorry” and will fess up to mistakes,
so their child knows we’re all human and can overcome any fate.
Let’s take a moment and appreciate all mothers, selfless heroes whose put love above all others.
Happy Mother’s Day!
To Mothers of all kinds (fur baby moms are moms too),
