Just Make One Move

I am writing this blog for two reasons: one, because I love to write, and two because I want to be a catalyst for positive change within us.  This stuff I’m writing about has been brewing within me for a long time. I felt like I was going to burst if I didn’t get this stuff out of me! And I was terrified to do so at first. Terrified! I came up with so many excuses in my mind, and I shied away from sharing my writing, but I had to do something to push myself.

There is no other way I can describe the way I felt when I decided to write this blog and share it. Writing was one thing, but sharing it with others was another. I allowed the fear of judgment to keep my light out. I had good reasons for not sharing my work, too. My subconscious mind kept replaying memories of my painful childhood and beyond. I couldn’t handle any more criticism. I couldn’t handle rejection.

But I knew I had special gifts given to me that I was responsible for sharing, not keeping hidden and secret. So, I had to make a move, take action, and make progress no matter what I feared. The more I wrote this blog, the more I realized I was writing it to help myself, and I could stop worrying about what others thought. I ignored negative thoughts as best as I could.

Do something every day, even if it’s a small thing, to get where you want to be. And when you feel yourself slipping into obscurity, remember you matter. I matter. We all matter.

Create a spark, and let it light up your entire life! Don’t stop at so-so or halfway done; illuminate what you really want. Ask yourself what you would dare to dream if you knew there were no limitations. The answer is telling you what you love and who you are.

Make a move when you feel like you can’t take one more day of drama or problems. Visualize the problems disappearing and replace them with solutions. See yourself living a low-key, happy day that brings you joy. If we have the ability to think negative thoughts, why wouldn’t we be able to think positive ones? Move and change your thinking.

We can choose to think better thoughts, like choosing a small-size ice cream instead of a sundae and not beating ourselves up for having ice cream when we’re trying to lose weight. This will get us out of a negative state and flip us to thinking good, healthy thoughts.

No one teaches us how to think positively. We all learned by example and became our surroundings. If you were raised in a healthy environment where you received praise and support, then you most likely grew up thinking positive thoughts about yourself. But for the rest of us, we have to teach ourselves how to think better to feel better.

Move just a little, and you can change your life.
