Feeling Thankful

My last blog was about doing and having all you want and not feeling bad or guilty for it. This one is about giving thanks.

What does it mean when you think about giving thanks? We can be thankful for good health, family, and love. But what does that mean?

There’s this concept floating around about the law of attraction, and the number one way to attract things into your life is to feel what it feels like to have whatever it is you want to attract. So, what does it feel like to have good health, a loving relationship, or a terrific family? What does it feel like to have a dream job? Feeling it makes it real.

I have a gratitude journal where I write down everything I’m grateful for. I find myself writing the same things repeatedly because if I don’t include “good health” and “my relationships and their good health,” I will somehow jinx it. I know that’s silly, but I am very grateful for not only my good health (and pain-free days) but my guy’s, daughter’s, and friends’ and family’s good health too. Hey, good health is everything!

But what about the small stuff? We don’t often let these things pass through our minds, yet they are constants and show up daily for us. What about fresh water, the food we have to eat, heating or air conditioning? What about the air we breathe? The shoes that keep us comfortable and protect our feet? What do you feel about those things that keep us alive, satisfied and comfortable?

Well, guess what? When we feel grateful for all the wonders around us, we attract more goodness into our lives. It’s true! And goodness can be as simple as peace of mind, not necessarily things, but those also come along with feeling grateful.

Did you ever experience this? You wake up, and your first thoughts are thank you for this beautiful day today. I know it’s going to be great! Then feel what it’s like to have a great day. I guarantee you that you will have a great day. Trust me, it works!

When we are grateful, there is a shift in our attitude, which influences how we interact with others and see ourselves. Feeling thankful is about having inner peace that we already have everything that we need, all the extras are blessings. It makes us better partners, parents, friends, siblings, whatever.

How does it feel when you take a moment (close your eyes – optional) and feel thankful? For me, it’s incredible! It changes my perspective, and I see things differently. The little things that bothered me before don’t matter as much. Attitude and how we handle life’s situations make a difference, and feeling thankful helps positive thoughts come first.

Feeling thankful is about being present in your life and not letting the runaway train of thoughts fill your head with feelings of lack. That’s where we feel like we’re missing out on something or start to think doom and gloom thoughts. No, no, no! We want the opposite!

I had this thought about Thanksgiving and how it comes before Christmas for a reason. On Thanksgiving, we appreciate all we have and give thanks for all our blessings before Christmas to put in our hearts the wonderful spirit of having abundance so that we can give, and it doesn’t have to be just about giving physical gifts. Give of yourself, your love, and your focused attention to those precious to you, and help others feel thankful too. Oh, what a wonderful world that would be! We can make it that way with little effort. Feeling thankful spreads like dandelion seeds in the wind. So, think those thoughts of feeling thankful!

Happy Thanksgiving, may it be blessed with love, good health, good food, peace, and happiness!

Thank you for reading.

To an extraordinary Thanksgiving holiday because we make it so,

Francesca
